    Cerclage

In the past, cerclage was widely used in pregnant women who were at risk of premature birth. Recent meta-analyzes have shown its use only in certain cases (in pregnant women after conization or loop excision, with spontaneous miscarriage in the second trimester)

Cerclage is a method of strengthening the cervix and is performed by placing a circular suture on the cervix.

The cerclage can be done in a short general intravenous analgesia or local anesthesia, and the suture is removed in the 37th week of pregnancy.
