The CTG record is used to assess the condition of the fetus just before birth. The aim is to obtain information on the supply of oxygen to the fetus based on the monitoring of heart rate, ie the number of heartbeats, as well as the existence, frequency and strength of uterine contractions.
The CTG record is most commonly used in the third trimester of pregnancy. It is recommended after the 36th week of pregnancy, the CTG recording is done once a week or more often as needed. Recording takes about 20 minutes.
